Life with a Pixiebob

They are calm, loyal and dog-like, often following their people and learning to walk on a leash. They chirp and chatter more than they meow, and they get along with kids and dogs.

Great for
  • Families with kids
  • Homes with a calm dog
  • People who want a big, gentle cat
Think twice if
  • You need a kitten soon — the breed is uncommon; check TICA papers
Care tips
  • Weekly brushing.
  • Daily play, and walks if they enjoy them.
  • Trim nails often — extra toes mean extra nails.

Health

Generally healthy. HCM and reproductive problems (undescended testicles, difficult births) are reported.

Ask the breeder for
  • Heart scan (echocardiogram) of the parents
  • TICA registration papers
Typical US price$1,000–$2,500

Prices are rough ranges from registered breeders and vary by line, color and region. A much cheaper “purebred” kitten is a common scam sign.
