Last updated October 2026. Plain-language summary of how KittenKey handles your information.
What we collect
- Account: your email, name, and the ZIP code and city you add. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email with us. We never see your Google password.
- Breeders: cattery name, website, description, profile and cover photos, kitten and parent-cat listings, photos and videos you post. These are public.
- Verification (breeders): the short verification video and any documents you upload (vaccination records, registration, health tests). These are private: only the KittenKey team can see them. We do not ask for ID photos, Social Security numbers or your home address.
- Activity: messages between buyers and breeders, kittens you save, breeders you follow, likes, reviews and reports.
- Location: to show kittens near you we use your approximate city from your internet connection, or your exact location only if you tap “Use my exact location”. It stays in your browser and is not saved on our servers.
- Waitlist: your email and what you tell us in the form.
Why we use it
- To run your account and show your listings, messages and notifications.
- To verify breeders and keep scams off the site. Messages may be read by our team only when someone reports a chat.
- To show breeders simple totals (views, saves, chats). Breeders never see who viewed or liked.
- To email you about your account and, if you joined the waitlist, about the launch.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your information and don’t show ads based on it.
- We don’t share your email or phone with breeders or buyers. You talk through KittenKey messages.
Who helps us run KittenKey
Our site is hosted by Vercel, and our accounts, database and files are stored with Supabase (in the United States). Google provides “Continue with Google” sign-in.
Your choices
- Change your profile any time in Account → Edit profile.
- Delete your account and everything you added in Account → Edit profile → Delete my account. It is removed right away.
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link in every email.
