Life with a RagaMuffin

They are teddy-bear cats: relaxed, cuddly and happy to be carried. They get along with everyone and adapt easily. They are not very athletic and they love food.

Great for
  • Families with kids
  • Multi-pet homes
  • People who want a large, gentle lap cat
Think twice if
  • You’re away all day
  • Portion control is hard in your home — they get heavy
Care tips
  • Brush twice a week.
  • Measure meals.
  • Keep them indoors.

Health

HCM and polycystic kidney disease (PKD) occur; obesity is common.

Ask the breeder for
  • Heart scan (echocardiogram) of the parents
  • PKD DNA test
Typical US price$1,200–$2,500

Prices are rough ranges from registered breeders and vary by line, color and region. A much cheaper “purebred” kitten is a common scam sign.
